Liquid Iodine

Quantity:

iodine-label.pngIodine's primary role is to keep the thyroid gland healthy and manufacturing sufficient thyroxine, a hormone that is needed throughout the body.

About 50 to 60 percent of the body's iodine is stored in the thyroid gland, the rest is distributed throughout the body, especially in ovaries, breast and prostate tissue, muscles, and blood. Iodine plays an important role in many of the body's functions.

Thyroid hormones control proper body metabolism that can influence energy production and body temperature. Thyroid function influences the adrenal glands, reproduction, nerve and muscle function, cellular oxygen use, the health of hair, skin, and bones and the breakdown of fats and proteins.

Women require higher iodine amounts during periods of puberty and pregnancy.

Iodine is a very effective heavy metal detoxifier of mercury, lead, cadmium, aluminum and bromide. And consequently can be depleted by the presence of these toxic heavy metals.

Symptoms of Deficiency:
Some of the symptoms of deficiency include; cold hands and feet, fatigue, sleeping all the time, brittle hair, dry skin, increased blood fats, inability to concentrate, heavy periods, bowel irregularity, hoarseness, and delayed reflexes. When iodine is deficient, the thyroid gland enlarges, forming a goiter.

Iodine deficiency causes the same symptoms as an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). The diagnosis of iodine deficiency is based on tests indicating low levels of iodine and thyroid hormones or a high level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) or on the presence of a goiter (only in adults).

Iodine has been maligned in mainstream medicine over the last 100 years to the degree that the current suggested RDA will barely keep a goiter at bay. According to the latest research, the RDA of 150 micrograms is woefully inadequate. Doses of 5 or more milligrams per day are now being recommended.

About the concentrate: Our concentrate addresses the low dose issue and gives you the ability to increase your dose to much higher levels, when necessary, and at a much more affordable price. One drop of our concentrate is 75% of the US RDA.

Food High in Iodine:
Seaweed, dairy products, seafood, eggs, corn, prunes, and beans are good sources of iodine.

researchObtaining the needed minerals via the food we eat is a chronic problem today. This is primarily due to our deficient soils and over processing and over cooking of our foods. Drinking ultra-purified water can also strip our body of these essential minerals. It is important to be aware of the fact that reverse osmosis and distilled water will actually act in reverse of what nature intended our water to do. Instead of being a mineral delivery system, the minerals are taken out of the water and this puts additional stress on the body tissue to compensate for the lack of minerals in the water. The minerals must then be taken from our healthy reserves in bone and muscle, thus leaving our system deficient and vulnerable. Replacement is essential!

  1. Very Pleased

Posted by Lucinda on 18th Feb 2013

I tried this product last night and used it again this morning. It definitely helped with my energy level and brain fog. I have not been able to find anything that says iodine deficiency can cause blurred vision, but I can say that I did not need to use my magnifying glass to read the internet today. It might be some kind of coincidence but whatever it is, I am very pleased.

  2. Facial redness gone

Posted by Shirley R. on 18th Feb 2013

After only a few days of using the concentrate on my facial skin, the redness on my cheeks and nose is gone, gone, gone. Eventually I will stop using if for a while to see if the effect holds, but for now I am using it morning and night.
