Eidon Peruvian Pink Salt is a rare expression of nature, place, and tradition. Unlike conventional sea salt, which is harvested from evaporated ocean water, this salt originates from a natural underground spring high in the Andes Mountains. The mineral-rich brine flows gently into a network of terraced ponds carved into the Sacred Valley—where it is transformed, slowly and naturally, by sun and air.

This process has remained largely unchanged for centuries. Each pond is carefully maintained and harvested by local families, preserving a living tradition rooted in both community and craftsmanship. The result is a salt that reflects its origin—not just in story, but in taste, texture, and character.

The final crystals offer a clean, smooth saltiness with subtle mineral depth. Whether used in cooking or as a finishing touch, it enhances flavors without overpowering them—bringing a refined, elevated experience to everyday meals.

A Better Way to Experience Salt

Salt is one of the most essential ingredients in any kitchen—but not all salt delivers the same experience. Peruvian Pink Salt offers a more balanced, less aggressive saltiness, allowing the natural flavors of your food to shine through rather than being masked.

Its naturally occurring trace minerals contribute to a smoother finish and a more nuanced flavor profile. While still performing the core role of salt, it does so with greater subtlety—making it ideal for both everyday cooking and finishing dishes where taste matters most.

More than just an ingredient, it represents a shift toward mindful sourcing and quality. From its Andean origin to its traditional harvesting process, every pinch carries a sense of authenticity—turning a simple seasoning into a meaningful part of your culinary routine.

From Mountain Spring to Your Table

Every crystal of this salt is shaped by a natural process that combines geography, climate, and tradition. Unlike industrial methods, this approach relies on time, care, and the environment itself.

Spring-Fed Origin: The journey begins deep within the Andes, where underground water dissolves mineral deposits and emerges as naturally saline brine—completely separate from ocean sources.

Gravity-Guided Flow: This brine is carefully directed through a system of narrow channels that distribute it across thousands of terraced ponds, ensuring even evaporation and consistency.

Sun & Air Evaporation: Under the Andean sun and dry climate, water slowly evaporates, allowing salt crystals to form naturally without the need for artificial processing.

Hand Collection & Stewardship: Each pond is individually maintained and harvested by local families, preserving a generational craft and ensuring attention to detail at every stage.

A Living Tradition in the Andes

In the heart of Peru’s Sacred Valley, high above sea level, a remarkable process unfolds every day. Mineral-rich brine rises from a natural spring and flows through a vast network of terraced ponds carved into the mountainside. These terraces, shaped and maintained over generations, allow the sun and dry Andean air to slowly evaporate the water, leaving behind delicate salt crystals. This is not an industrial operation—it is a living, breathing tradition sustained by local families who inherit and care for individual ponds. The methods remain largely unchanged, reflecting centuries of knowledge, patience, and respect for the land. Each harvest is a continuation of this story, connecting the past to the present—and bringing something truly authentic to your table.

Best salt ever!

This salt has a wonderful flavor! Knowing this stuff is loaded with minerals is the icing on the cake! Due to it's texture, it doesn't come out of my "salt shaker" like the traditional store bought salt. It's a minor inconvenience.
